FELLOWS :
1. Every candidate for election or transfer to the
class of Fellow shall satisfy the Council:-
i) That he is not less than 35 years of age.
ii) That he is engaged in the profession
of engineering in a position of high responsibility, or has retired
from his profession after having held a position of high responsibility.
and (iii) That he has at least
one of the following qualifications :-
- (a) He is a Member of the Association and has
had at least five years’ experience in a position of superior
responsibility and distinction.
- (b) Or, he has had adequate education and training
in Engineering and has had experience involving responsibility
for at least ten years out of which five years have in a position
of superior responsibility and distinction.
- (c) Or, he is a member of an engineering Institution
or Society membership of which, in the opinion of the Council,
is proof of suitable technical qualifications and experience.
- (d) Or, he is a person of eminence in the profession
of engineering.
NOTE: -
In considering the qualifications of candidates responsible charge
in engineering teaching and or research may be regarded as positions
of superior responsibility.
MEMBERS :
2. Every candidate for election or transfer to the
class of Members shall satisfy the Council:-
(i) That he is not less than 25
years of age.
(ii) That he is engaged in the
profession of engineering in a position of responsibility, or has
retired from his profession after having held a position of responsibility.
and (iii) That he has at least one
of the following qualifications :-
- (a) He is an Associate Member of the Association
and has had at least three years’ experience in a position
of responsibility and distinction.
- (b) Or, he has had adequate education and
training in Engineering and has had experience involving responsibility
for at least ten years out of which five years have been in
a position of superior responsibility and distinction.
- (c) Or, he is a member of an engineering Institute
or Society membership of which in the opinion of the Council,
is a proof of a suitable technical qualifications and experience.
- (d) Or, he is a person of eminence in the
profession of engineering.
2A. INSTITUTIONAL/ORGANIZATIONAL
MEMBERS Every Institution/ Organization for election to the class
of Institutional/Organizational Members shall satisfy the Council:
(i) That the Institution/Organization
shall fulfill the objects of the Association. Each Institution/Organization
shall nominate two as its representatives who may be changed by
the Institution/Organization concerned.
ASSOCIATE MEMBERS :
3. Every candidate for election or transfer to the
class of Associate Members shall satisfy the Council:
(a) That he is not less than 20
years of age.
(b) That he has passed the examination
for Associate Membership prescribed by the Council or has been exempted
from the examination having passed such other examination or examinations
which are recognized by the Council as equivalent to their own examination.
(c) That he has training and practice
in engineering.
ASSOCIATES :
4. Every candidate for election to the class of
Associates shall satisfy the Council:
(a) That he is not less than 30
years of age.
(b) That though not an engineer
by profession he has attained a position in a special pursuit allied
to engineering as would further the cause of engineering knowledge
and practice. |
