Academic Features :

  • The school is a co-education for boys and girls; the curriculum is based on New National Education Policy and as per guidelines of NCERT.
  • The school has classes Nursery, Lower K G, Upper K G in the Montessori Section; Classes I to IV in Primary Section and classes V to VIII in Junior Section.
  • English is the medium of instruction where all subjects are taught in English. Hindi, Bengali and Urdu hold a place of very high importance as vernacular languages taught in the school.
  • All students (from classes III to VIII) get chances to practice on the computer, and is offered as a compulsory subject.
  • Well qualified, good and trained teachers take special care and attention on persona! contact with children emphasising on learning. The student-teacher ratio is 30:1.
  • The Academic year begins in the month of April and ends in the month of March the following year.
 

Other Features :

  • There is a library with books journals and magazines on subjects inter-linked with school curriculum for students and teaching faculty.
  • For Montessori Section toys and other aptitude based playing and drawing materials are provided to make learning in around playful activities.
  • There is great emphasis on Project Work.
  • Physical Education is given proper attention helping to bring about Integrated Development of the child. The school maintains P. T. classes and is compulsory for all students. Martial Arts (Karate) by expert is also made to practice in the school.
  • The school has four Houses from class I to VIII. Dr Rajendra Prasad House (Red). Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan House (Blue) Dr. Zakir Hussain House (Green) Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam House (Yellow). All the students of this school take part in their school Annual Sports.
 

Co-curricular Activities :
The school offers a large variety of co-curricular activities. Students are encouraged in co-curricular activities that develops; feeling of co-operation, co-ordination and unity among students. Elocution, drawing and painting work; dance and musical programmes including cultural programmes, social useful productive work programmes and community programmes on cleanliness and health are held. These develop the students Mental Strength, Intellect and Moral. The school arranges Educational Tour Programme every alternate year. School organises other functions like Annual Day, Teachers' Day, Children's Day and Independence Day.

 

Assessment System :
Promotion to the next higher class at the end of the academic year is on the basis of a scheme of continuous assessment and is in accordance with the rules decided upon by the school examination committee. There will be 2 (two) terms. The first term ends with Puja (Autumn) festival. The Second and Final term ends in the month of March. The performance statement is given with Letter Grades A, B, C, D, E and F corresponding to Excellent, Good, Fair, Poor, Exposed, Failed with Grade Point Values 10, 8, 6, 4, 2, 0 for marks obtaining 100-91, 90-76, 75-56, 55-36,35-16 and 15-0 resepectively.

The upto date overall performance is reported by Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) which is a weighted average. Subjects/Courses are associated with number of units as weights.

The progress and performance is monitored at the end of every term by noting whether the student has secured more than two E grades and that the student has a CGPA of at least 4.5 in that term. Whenever a student is unable to meet the minimum performance, the case comes under the preview of Academic Counselling Committee which would Counsel the student may require to repeat courses, monitor the progress and may require to leave the school if the student is unable to meet the probationary conditions.

 

Uniforms :
School Uniform showing the Emblem of the school is strictly compulsory.
For Boys : Red check shirt and maroon colour pant with maroon colour tie and socks and black shoes.
For Girls : Red check blouse under maroon colour overall or Red check kamiz and maroon salwar with maroon colour scraf / tie and socks and black shoes.
On days with P.T / Game period - white colour canvas shoes.
During winter : Maroon colour woolen pullover or blazer.

 

Admission and Withdrawal :

The application in a Prescribed Form has to be made for Registration and Admission which starts in the month of December. The following documents are required as a part of the Admission Procedure of every student.

  • Attested Birth Certificate of the child
  • Two passport size photographs of the child
  • Transfer Certificate in case of students studying previously in school.
  • For classes other than Nursery, the students will be admitted on the basis of Admission Test. The decision of the school authority regarding admission will be final.
  • Students with inadequate records of progress in class will be struck of rolls and Transfer Certificate will be granted on request with requisite charges.
  • One month notice is to be given if the students is to be withdrawn from school.
 

Class Timing & Discipline :
The new session begins from 1st Monday in April and ends 8 days before the end of March the following year.
MontessoriSection (Nursery, LKG&UKG) 8.20 a.m. to 11.45a.m.
Primary Section & JuniorSection 8.20 a.m. to 1.30 p.m.
Tiffin Break 20 minutes after 3rd period at 10.15 a.m. Saturdays & Sundays are holidays.
The classes are suspended after 11.45 a.m. on Fridays. Other holidays are recorded in School Diary.

  • All pupils should be very punctual, late comers will be subjected to punishment in order to maintain discipline. Attendance in School must be 75% of the working days.
  • Special attention is given to ensure a high standard of Morality and Discipline in the school.
  • Strict action shall be taken if school property is wilfully damaged and destroyed.
  • In case of absence, a student must produce a letter or an entry in the Regulatory Record of their Diary by their guardians explaining the cause of absence.
  • Students must maintain cordiality and friendly attitudes among themselves.
