There was a large gap between demand and supply of flats for the middle-class sector of our society. The real estate sector in Kolkata at that time was not organized. Customers were often duped by unscrupulous real estate agents and developers. The Kolkata real estate market badly needed a developer who can give a quality product and is trustworthy. Sri N.A. Goenka felt this was the right time to enter into the industry. He foresaw that the developer who is honest, transparent in his dealings, cares about quality and can give the worth of the money invested by the buyers will sustain in this industry.

The First Project undertaken by the Shriji Group was a Super Market located at Bangur Avenue, Kolkata in a joint venture with the Bangur family who owned the land. Subsequently, the Group took up their first housing complex on VIP Road known as the “BRIJDHAM HOUSING COMPLEX”.

With their modest start in the year 1984, the organisation continues to carry out successfully a number of significant and diverse projects both in Kolkata and outside Kolkata. There can be no better proof of quality in customer satisfaction with the team work than the fact that a large number of flat buyers repeatedly refer their friends, relatives and colleagues to the new projects developed by the Sriji Group.

Due to the core values and principles introduced by Sri N.A. Goenka and his sons, the Group had sustained all the ups and downs of the industry for the last two decades. Shriji Group is still going strong, successfully completing a number of projects.
