Samaresh Ganguly, one of the leading name among the established table players in India, born in a family of culture in Calcutta. He inherited his love and respect for the classical genre of Indian music with his special emphasis on tabla. He was initiated into the art of playing tabla under the masterly guidance of Padmabhusan Pandit Jnanprakash Ghosh, a legendary personality in the world of tabla.

Samaresh has performed in hundreds of concerts in India with acclamation from the connoisseurs. Some of worthy mention are his concerts in Tansen music conference. He has received many honours of different musical authorities in India. He has accompanied many artist like Pandit V. G. Yog, Pandit Ajoy Chakraborty, Pandit Arun Bhaduri, Shri Subrota Roychoudhury, Smt. Sisir Kana Dharchoudhury, Smt. Kalyani Roy, Shri Hem Hazarika, Shri Anjan Chattapadhyay, Smt. Giriza Devi, Ustad Gulam Ali, etc. Samaresh also has his credit of presenting tabla solo with dexterity. In addition to it, nowadays, Samaresh has been busy in teaching at his own institution, Surobitan Sangeet Shikhsayatan. Recently he has performed also at Sabrang Conference in Kalmandir Hall with Prabhate Mukharjee.
