Facial cosmetic surgery includes
:
scar revision, removal of moles, birth marks, irregularity
of skin, ageging skin tags, vitiligo spots, sagging
eye lid or baggy eye lid, correction thick lip,
chin augmentation, correction of ear abnormality,
face lift etc.
Most
of the facial cosmetic surgeries are done under
local anaesthesia & hospital stay is only a
few hours. Scars are made minimal or in hidden areas
so that not easily recognisable.
Chin augmentation is done by silicon prosthesis
which is inserted orally or bony correction by Osteotomy
& Fixation.
Minor ear problems like split ear lobule or Bat
ear correction are done on day care basis. Correction
of Microtia; i.e. small deformed ear by birth is
a multistaged procedure. Ear framework is made from
rib cartilage & placed in a skin pocket or covered
with skin graft. This is done under general anaesthesia.
Correction of baggy eyelid & thick lip is done
by local anaesthesia & discharged on the same
day.
Correction of white marks over face or hand and
foot (vitiligo) is done by laser or dermabrasion
and blister graft, ultra thin skin graft and smashed
keratin graft.
Correction of ageing face i.e. loose sagging skin
& lines and loose skin of nake & chin is
done by Minifacelift procedure which gives indistinct
scar mark along the ear only. Nonsurgical procedures
like liposuction and thread lift may be done also
in those who don't like to undergo surgery. In some
cases chemical peeling and laser surgery may be
of great help also.
