A
difficult assignment was thrown upon me. To procure a profile
of Anischay Chakraborty. Difficult, because he is not all
bothered about his own publicity or promotion. He is a
workaholic,
quiet happy in his dual domains. One-in the Bengali Daily - "AAJKAAL",
where he is a Senior Sub Editor. Another - in the Literary
circle,
where he is a significant contributor in the said arena,
sometimes as a writer, sometimes as an editor.
By the grace of Almighty, Anischay could not say no to me
and I arrived at his doorstep one weekend afternoon. As I
said earlier, he was very much shy of publicity (in his own
words, "beating my own drum"). I told him, "this
is the order of the day, everybody does it, directly or indirectly".
It didn't help. He was still uneasy.
Later on he co-operated as I put up the actual utility of INTERNET
and how he can interact with the world, thus
In brief :-
after
completing his Bachelor's in Political Science from Asansol
(University of Burdwan) he went for Master's too in the same
stream & university. And then Kolkata.
He was an editorial Assistant in the Bengali Fortnightly "PRATIKSHAN"
for some years.
Later on he started working with AAJKAAL the Bengali news
daily where he is now.
"JANMER ASUKH" was a collection of short stories
he wrote in 1998. Next year he wrote his first novel "ALO
ANDHARER ANANDO BIPLABE".
Last
2002 he sifted us with one more book (among other numerous writings,
scribbling at all, which he never wanted to mention), ANIYANTRANREKHA, a collection of short
stories.
Meanwhile he has edited "A collection of short stories
by Dipendranath Bandyopadhyay" and complete novels by Dipendranath Bandyopadhyay.
