Material:
There is no material replacement cost unless
there is a pre existing condition. From Mannings USA’s
global operational experience and SMIHPL’s experience
in India, there has never been a situation for damage
or replacement of material. On the other hand, a ceased
turbine bolt not only extends the outage time, but also
costs substantial money (labor and material) to remove
the bolt. A damaged or distorted retaining ring needing
replacement is, of course, costly. None of these possibilities
exist for induction heating.
Time:
As India continues to become a formidable competitive
force in the global market; the pressure to reduce expended
time in non-productive activities in manufacturing,
power generation and service sector will be overwhelming.
Availability of continuous power supply at a reasonably
cheaper rate will propel the Indian economy to new highs.
Well planned short duration outages will just do that.
To simply put it, a short duration outage will do just
that.
To put
it simply:
- Reduce overall outage cost
- Increase capacity factor
Induction
Heating: alone can save at least two
days of the outage time during opening and two days
during closing operation of the turbine shell. This
will enable the company to sell minimum four days worth
of additional power. At the current electricity rate,
this could amount to substantial revenue.
Convenience:
SMIHPL’s process is clean and safe. Generally
one or two service engineers with the help of a couple
of labors can complete the entire operation safely in
less than a shift. Our team will loosen the nuts for
removal by hand turning. There is no slugging or hazardous
gas. Once used, users get hooked to the convenience
it offers.
