bold name in Modern Bengali Literature, was born in the year
1950 in Bankura. She started her career in writing only at the
age of 17 i.e 1967.
Her
versatility is well proved by the even balance of her professional
life (as a teacher), her family life as a responsible wife (of
former Education Minister – Mr. Partha De) and also as a
caring mother of two daughters (one established as a doctor and
other as successful computer engineer) and her creative world.
She
stands as an eminent figure of Bengali literature with inevitable
and outstanding virtues such as writing short stories, poetries,
articles and beautifully paints the significance as well as
irony of human life and society.
Some
of her famous literary creations are “DRONI,
CHANDALIKAR MEYE, BISHOLLOKORONI, BHANUMOTIR PADO SHANCHAR, SHOPNER
SHONALI CHOTURBHUJ”,
to name a few. She is a regular writer in “KISHORE
DUNIYA”, “EKSATHE”, “AATAI” and
other well-known magazines. Besides this she is a regular reader
of articles in “AKASHBANI”
on child and women problems. Above all, Chinmoyee De is an outstanding
artist in the art of recitation with golden touch of her Baritone
voice and keen artistic & literary sense.
Being
an important part of “GANATANTRIK
MAHILA SAMITY” she is also a revolutionary
voice against child and women problems in our society.
