Qualification

Started
to learn Tabla under the guidance of Shri Jagadish Chandra
Ray (student of Ustad Keramatulla Khan) in the year 1966.
From that onwards his training in Tabla was in full swing
under the guidance of Shri Kanai Dutta (student of Pandit
Sankar Ghosh)

Later
on under Shri Saroj Modak (student of Pandit Hiru Ganguly).
Presently he is guided by Pandit Aninda Chatterjee (student
of Pandit Gyan Ghosh)

Qualified
from Prachin Kala Kendra (Chandigarh) "BISHARAD"
Degree 5th year
examination in 1st Division. Appeared for 5th
year examination from Bangiya Sangeet Parishad "BIBHAKAR"
Degree.
Professional
Experience
-
Having
40 years of experience in Tabla accompanying. He have
accompanied many artists all over India. To name a few
artists are – Shri Amar Pal, Prahlad Brahmachari, Sanat
Sinha, Manas Chatterjee etc. Presently he is “Grade B”
member of Kolkata Cine Musicians Association.

Presently
he is working as an Examiner under Bangiya Sangeet Parishad
(Subject – Tabla, Dance & Vocal). He had also
performed several times in Calcutta Doordarshan and Calcutta
Radio Centre, he had also trained many students and now
presently attached to Bally Sur Sangat (a renowned musical
Institution of Bally) as a Principal of that Institute.
Special
Interest
- To look for more devoted students for giving the proper
training and guidance in order to make more and more
professional.
Special:
He is also running an institution from his house where, the
age-group starting from teenager to the age-group of 40 to 50
years. Under the banner of "SUR SANGAT", which itself
has got an entity in the field of Music & Cultural events.
