Papiya Adhikari is basically a serious stage Actress. She worked in over 70 Films since 1985  Radio and Television serials and Television  films and TV Plays .

In the she beginning worked in Radio jingles and plays since childhood, worked in Tamil Films- Janani- for Jemini films as the main protoganist there named Gemin Bavya as worked in group threatre professional theatre and also yatra for more than 15 years. She has given direction also in professional theatre ,Yatra and ballet shows- cassette, “Arun Barun Kironmala” the best sellers- Doordarshan & Television serial Harano Sur ,Raat Takhan Agarata- Alpha Bangla as the director.

She has done theatre like Bishe June, Mother, Pratham Partho, Tapashree Tarangiri, Tughlague Telefilm, Haranen nath Jamai, Ankhai Kaindo- a hit Slapstic Comedy  which  brought her into Lime light and also regular board shows i.e saturday, sunday thrusday evening shows, 1000 nights of – Kee Bibhrat- Mosaheb, Paroma, Dui Mohal and sruti Nataks  etc.
