Tamal Ray chowdhury

Form 1987 Mr. Roy Chowdhyry started participated in TV serials. Not only has he acted in many serials and telefilms since then, but also he successfully directed a few programes. The names of the programmes he directed are :

The imaginary invalid by Moliere. It was renamed Kalporogi. The late Mr. Kali Banerjee acted in the lead role. The Merchant of Venice by William Shakespeare. Shahjehan by D. L. Roy. The late Mr. Vasant Choudhury portrayed the lead character.
All these productions were made by M/s Infocom for the famous series "Theatre through the Ages" and telecast on Doordarshan.
Later he directed Ahindranarayaner Arogyalabh and Buzrook for Channel 8 and they were telecast from Akash Bangla.
Over the period of 18 years Mr. Ray Chowdhury has acted in a number of serials and telefilms. It is neither possible nor worth while to mention the names of all the serials or telefilms he acted in. He however, remembers acting as an O/c of a Police Station in Tero Parbon directed by Jochhon Dastidar which eventually led to his playing "cop" in many serials that followed. Ray Chowdhury admits doing mostly travial roles in meaningless megaserials. However some his portrayals have remained in the mind of the viewers.
