For
the sake of layman I want to speak a few words about “
Homoeopathy”
Homoeopathy
is based on three basic principle- simi, mini and mono.
Firstly
simi means
“similar” the symptoms and sign given in materia media of the
drug should match with sign and symptoms of the disease person.
Secondly
“mini” means “ minimum- the dose of the medicine should be
minimum to the disease subject.
Thirdly
“ mono” means “single” – a single medicine is to be
administrated which has nearly all the symptoms and matches with
the subject.
So,
Sir Hahnemann said “ collect all the disease-symptom match them
with the symptom of the drug as present in the materia medica and
then selected only one single medicine at a time for a true
disease
and give it in minimum dose to which the subject is susceptible.
For
eg: if xyz are the disease symptoms find these symptoms in the
drug which has them and prescribe the only one drug at a time in
minimum dose to the disease subject.
Hereby
in today’s world of homoeopathy those using multiple medicine in
their prescription are not following the basic tenants given by
the founder of Homoeopathy. The basis on which we select the
medicine from our materia medica is mainly based on Drug-proving
by our masters which had been done with simple , unadulterated single
medicine on healthy human body and there by the symptoms recorded.
So, the knowledge regarding these medicines are based on single
medicines proving.
The
basic aim to state these in my column is to make the layman know
what is Homoeopathy is about.
