Pioneer name in Painting & Sculpture field. He completed his graduation in painting in 1969 and in modeling & sculpture in 1971 from Govt. College of Art & Craft, Kolkata.

He performed one man shows on the paverest in 1968, 1969, 1970, 1973, 1974. He has the membership in "Canvas artists circle" Dasharupak, Calcutta Art Fair. He is former member of general council, Executive Board & Finance Committee -  LALAIT KALA ACADEMY - New Delhi. He is the jury member of National Exhibition of Art, New Delhi.

AWARD & HONOUR : 

1. Received medal and certificate for best painting from West Bengal Youth Festival.

2. Commendation from National Exhibition of Art New Delhi in 1976 - 77.

3. Received National Academy Award from New Delhi in 1990 - 91. (Lalit Kala Academy).

He is regular participator of Group Shows organized by Canvas Artists Circle at Calcutta, Santiniketan, Delhi  and other places.

He participated in exhibition like National Exhibition of Art by Lalit Kala Academy, 4th Asian Art Biennake Bangladesh, Artist camp in Port - Blair, Andaman (1987), "Song for World Peace" organished by Indo-Soviet Nicolas, Roerich Art Club (1991), 7th Rastrrya Kala Mela at Mumbai (1991), Workshop organished by Govt. of West Bengal at Bankura (1995) and Jalpaiguri (1996), Camp organished by "Cards" in Jharkhand (2002) and "Of Human Bondage" Solo Exhibition (2004).

His collection lies in Lalit Kala Academy, National Gallery of Modern Art, Delhi. He has many private collection of India, Howare & Abroad.
