The New Allenberry Works
(NAW) is promoted by Mr. P.K. Daga, a
well known experienced and very successful industrialist. The group has its presence in
Engineering and Textile. The day to day operations of the NAW
is managed by Mr. K S Dev, MBA, the CEO of the NAW, duly
assisted by a team of professionally competent technocrats and other
professionals.
NAW was first to manufacture Worm Gearbox in India
in the year 1959 with its own design. However, in order to
achieve excellence and also to manufacture Gearboxes of world
quality products, NAW entered into a Licence Agreement in the year
1962 with John Holroyd of Milnrow, U.K. During the agreement
period the NAW absorbed the technology of worm reduction gears
and marketed the product under the Brand name of
®.
The Licence Agreement was for the sizes of 1/8” to 12” Centre
Distance (9 sizes) & Reduction Ratio of 5:1 to 10:1 (11 Ratios).
Today only NAW manufactures largest size of Worm Set of 41” CD and
caters to the demand of Power Plants. Subsequently NAW also started
manufacturing Gear Sets of any reduction ratio.
Encouraged with the demand of ALLROYD® brand Worm Reduction Gearboxes in 3 different
orientations, both single and double reduction type with maximum
4900:1 reduction ratio, NAW also started manufacturing helical
Gearboxes and Geared Motor products with its own design to meet the
ever-increasing demand for parallel shafts and co-axial drives of
Higher Power Ratings. Backed up with the urge of manufacturing the
Gearboxes to world quality products of DIN 3990 and 3960 standards,
NAW entered into another agreement during 1962 with world
renowned gear box manufacturing company Jahnraderfabrik Renk A.G., Augsburg, West Germany,
to
manufacture Parallel as well as Co-axial Shaft Helical Gearboxes for
higher power rating under the brand name ALLEN-RENK which was
subsequently changed to ALLENMAX® after
expiry of the Licence Agreement. The gear elements under this brand
are made of Alloy Steel, suitably hardened and tempered to the
required specification. ALLENMAX®
Gearboxes are of single, double and triple reduction type depending
upon the desired reduction ratio, minimum being 1.4:1 and
maximum 200:1 with power rating over 5000 HP.
During 1965, NAW went for
another Licence Agreement with Suddeutsche - Electricmotoren -
Werke GmbH, Bruchsal, West Germany, a world renowned
company for manufacture of small size Case Hardened and Ground
Teeth Co-axial type Gearboxes as well as Geared Motor units under
the brand name of OPTIMAX®. This
was another milestone for NAW when such compact designed Gearboxes
and Geared Motor Units were manufactured wherefrom a very high
reduction ratio could be achieved. There are 8 models – each having
Foot Mounted as well as Flange Mounted style. Highly productive
Reishaur Gear Grinding machine was imported along with MAAG Gear
Tester to increase the product range. Design for variable attachment
was also obtained which can be coupled with Geared Motor Units to
vary the output RPM conveniently within very close range as per the
requirement. Such units are manufactured under the brand
name of VARIMAX®.
