BARNALI
VANIA spent her childhood in Guwahati, Assam. The panaromic view of Assam has
sung into her heart like heartbeat. She used to listen to music, but never she
thought of learning, to make it as a profession. Rather from her childhood, her
aim was to be a great table tennis player. Her interest in table tennis lead her
to represent Assam in state level junior. After coming to Kolkata. She was state
ranking player of W.B in Table Tennis. In her service life, in Indian Audit
& Accounts Department she has
represented Table Tennis nationally.
Her
attraction in music with sports started when she came to Kolkata with
inspirations from her parent & sister she started learning & practicing “Shastriya
Sangeet”. She had taken up regular classes from the Great Pandit A. T. Kanan
and Smt. Anita Majumdar.
Later on, Rabindra Sangeet, from Sri Subhash Choudhury.
Apart
from “Thumri”, “Bhajan”, “Rabindra Sangeet”, “Najrulgeeti”, she
has also excelled in various forms of Bengali, Hindi, Assamese songs and also
sang in various internationally languages and excelled.
The
great Musician Shri V. Balsara came and stood beside her as a guardian. Beside
singing, stage play is one of her main attraction. She is very much fond of
stage play.
She
is a regular artiste of “Najrulgeeti” & “Bhajan” from Akashvani
Kolkata. She is a Post Graduate in philosophy from Jadavpur University. At the moment
she is working in the Dept. of Audit-Accounts under Indian Government.
