Saptarshi Roy is a fruitful dancer, choreographer and teacher. Groomed in the startes Classical traditions under "Guru" Smt, Amita Dutt and also he learned from Pandit Birju Maharaj and Smt. Shaswati Sen.

 

He is also the Principal of Konnagar Nataraj Kala Malldir (School of performing Art). He has performed in various places of India, such as Himachal Pradesh, Kanpur, Nagour, Jamshedpur, Assam, and Rajgir Festival, Gour Festival with creditability. Last year he went to Italy for performing Dance.

 

Saptarshi has obtained degree in Kathak NrityaPrabhakar and Nritya Bishaarad: and also obtained 'Gold Medal' in Inter College Competition held in Kolkata University Institute. He was ex-trainer of Kathak Dance in Burdwan University, Last year he has presented attractive and talented dance performance "in Kathak Gharana" Ahelly Kathak, ensuring year "Nazrul Satabarsha" in Kolkata Doordarshan with Smt. Amita Dutt, He also obtained 'National Scholarship (2000)'.
