SUJOK THERAPY
Acupuncture
has been practiced in ancient China, Korea, Sri Lanka for more than about
3,000 years as a traditional and drugless form of oriental medicine. After
many years of research, Prof. Sir Park Jae Woo of South Korea developed
SUJOK Acupuncture using only the hands (SU) and feet (JOK) to effect the
same results as body acupuncture.
Prof Park claims that human hand has a unique structure embodying the fundamental laws of the real World. Varied correspondence systems - peculiar energy -
and information copies of the whole body and its individual parts and organs - are present simultaneously on the hand overlaying and forming and orderly multilevel holographic picture. In addition to the standard pentagonal correspondence system that occupies the whole hand and reflects the structure of the developed human body (Fig. 1), the bodily correspondence of a lesser size are present on the hand as well in form of miniature correspondence (Fig. 2). Also there are finger toe systems that have a three -level structure and pronounced similarity to the form of the body characteristic of a new born child (Fig.3) , and also particular systems of the hands, phalanges and great number of round systems (Fig.4). In
the hands and feet, exist independent structures of body correspondence
and nerve endings. It is confirmed that hands and feet have more orderly
deliberate body correspondence treatment system than any other parts of
the body and they keep us in good health. Stimulation on this system will
clean the disease in corresponding areas of the body. This method of
treating with stimulators, finger pressure or needling, seeds, colours,
can be practiced by anyone and its results attest its validity. This is
the first dimension of SU]OK Acupuncture system physical (Homo) treatment. The
second dimension draws on classical acupuncture and meridians and use of
needles, byol magnets, seeds and colours with metaphysical formulae in
byol meridians on hands and feet. This is an important tool in the hands
of medical practitioners and trained and experienced Sujok acupuncturists.
Here in this system, treatment is not given only to balance the six kis
but by assessing the emotional and reason factors of the body; diseases
are cured on emotional and reason levels as well. The
idea that the whole body is projected into one small area - miniature area
- is not new, but the representation of the main meridians and chakras in
a precisely placed miniaturised form on the hands and feet definitely is.
The precisely mapped meridians and chakra correspondences and their three
dimensional vibrations, spin as well as the precise correspondence area
make the micro system truly representative of the whole body. Professor
Park has created SUJOK acupuncture emphasizing the harmony of UM (Yin) and
AH (Yang), Homo-and Hetero principles and that also use only the hands and
feet as hardware, together with many creative and unique theories of
acupuncture software. Around 1995, he had established chakra
correspondences in hand and feet and had used them as hardware for
treatment based on the principles of Homo-Hetero, Yin-Yang, five elements,
six ki and eight origins principles. This is applied not only to detect
which meridian, chakra or organ is involved but also to uncover the
internal pattern of disharmony within that specific organ. This clearly
shows at a glance that organ involved has inseparable interaction with
other organs. This inner interrelation gives the healer immediate sense
that he is dealing with the person as a whole. And, no doubt, the very
process that produces the diagnosis, at once relegates it to the status of
a very fluid and temporary working solution, which only serves to
establish possible treatments. This creates a dynamism which is fitting to
the living being, rather than a fixed and rigid label describing an inert
state. He has even established recently the principles of eight origins
which paves the ways to find out sub, sub-sub; sub-sub-sub, or even more
complicated structures of the constitution functional, sense and
correspondence structure, by establishing the diagnosis of such sub or
sub-sub compound and complicated structure thereof. This brings in a
deeper sense, a root to the diagnosis and makes the treatment more
effective. Professor
Park has even established treatment patterns on the emotional as well as
the mental level using six ki structure, sub structure, sub-sub structure
etc. In
the later part of probably 1997 he yet gave a new dimension. As per the
Yoga system there are seven main chakras. Prof. Park has visualized our
body - main trunk part - consisting of two pyramids with the bases of both
at the diaphragm level and apex above and below. He has established
existence of external chakras on six apexes formed by these two pyramids.
Moreover, he has visualized that C.V. and G.V. are border meridians
situated on the vertical front and back side of the pyramids, and has
named them Central Border Meridians. Similarly, two border meridians,
viz., side border meridians are situated on the left and right side of the
pyramidal structure, while diaphragm border meridians are situated on the
diaphragm level where both pyramid bases meet front and back. He has
further established central core meridians corresponding to IDA. PINGLA
and SUSHUMNA NADIS. But, he says there are three sets of central core
meridians. One is between top and bottom, left to right and front to back
of the pyramid apexes. The correspondence to these new dimensions as well
are established in hands and feet for diagnosis and effective treatments.
He has added many tools in his armoury.He has establishedNail Therapy, Onnuri Joint Therapy. He says that joints are Neutro and treatment on Neutro is more effective> He has established all the 14 meridians on each joint of 5 fingers of both hands and toes of both foot. He has also established organ correspondence on these joints. He has also defined and established and assigned each finger of the hands and feet with different energy and has plotted six and eight energies on the se fingers.(i) Vertical (Hetero) (ii) Horizontal (Homo) and (iii) Spiral (neutro). This tool in the hands of an experienced practitioner enables him to go deep into the structure and form of disease and develop an effective treatment pattern. At
present. SUJOK acupuncture is viewed as an ultra modern interpretation of
acupuncture science which uses only the hands and feet as remote control
in the modern day trend of modem technical development in all fields of
science and civilization to employ remote control. To
meet with the scientific challenges of tomorrow, Professor Park has
created this monumental therapy to establish the rebirth of a
medicine-health care system of the past. Professor Park has outlined his
research work as a total synthesis of body, mind and spirit bringing into
perspective many forms of Hand and Foot acupressure/ acupuncture into
focus within the many paradigms of the traditional medicine philosophy. I have no doubts whatsoever that SU JOK acupuncture which is presented to this world in 1987 by Professor Park will be of immense service to the healing profession and thus to the ailing world population.
