Teaching / Training
ANANYA
is concerned with teaching in the classroom, laboratory and workshop.
A great emphasis is placed on student centered learning and this
seems to work well. That is, getting the student involved in the
lesson by doing, speaking, answering questions and in any other
way participating.
The teacher is seen as a communication and controller and is often
referred to as a manager of teaching and learning.
Management involves planning direction and co-ordination of student
activities. This includes:
Setting
of objectives
Formulation of plans
Organisation of activities
Direction and control of operations
"The
teacher/trainer as a manager is responsible in effect for the
deployment of resources and the planning and administration of
instruction so that the student will learn most efficiently."
Therefore the teacher / trainer may follow a strategy based on
the following activities:
-
Create
and maintain an environment in which learning can take place.
-
Construct or interpret the syllabus/objectives/ competency
statements.
-
Produce teaching objectives.
Select the appropriate modes of teaching.
-
Motivate
and control.
-
Teach
/ train
-
Assess
student performance.
-
Provide a system of informative feedback to the students.
In
pursuing these goals the toacher will be involved in planning
or defining the instructional
objectives, organising or declling how he/she will go about teaching
/ training based on the objectives and available sources directing
or carring out this strategy which includes the functions of motivating
and encouraging the student, controlling by monitoring and assessing
student progress and making adjustment to teaching / training
so that objectives are achieved. The teacher / trainer must b
aware that for the students to learn they must be in an atmosphere
in which they know that t e teacher wants them to learn. Respect
is achieved only by earning it and once obtained will produce
business like trainees who will want to succeed and are well on
the way to being fully motivated.
The teacher/ trainer will be provided with a syllabus which is
usually couched in both general and specific objectives with respect
to learning outcomes. "A technical syllabus has limited teaching
value until it is expanded into a scheme for a sessions work".
The teacher in further education..... ,will be expected to work
to a syllabus. His/her task as a teacher/manager.

Workshop Casses:
These
should be planned and the progress recorded. Each practical step
should demonstrated by the teacher to the group. Students should
perform the required tasks and repeat until the required competences
are attained.
Close security of students' progress should be made. At each stage
the group should be brought together to discuss :
Laboratory
work is also most helpful in the learning process. Use a laboratory
or demonstration whenever you can :
-
Always
state the objects
-
Allow
student to help
-

Assessment
of Students is necessary to ensure that learning outcomes have
been
achieved. The assessment can be made by using the question and
answer technique, through the use of assignments, projects and
tutorials and by progressive testing and observation in the work
place.
It is essential to provide feedback to the students for the purpose
or correcting mistakes and misunderstanding. "Feedback is
when the learner is made aware of the degree to which his/her
performance approaches the required standards."
What
must the student do to enable him/her to learn?
How can I help them to learn?
What is to be learned?
What kinds of stimulation external to the learner will be support
the internal processing necessary for learning?
A varied presentation will help the student to learn. The old
Chinese proverb is very true:
I HEAR AND I FORGOT, I SEE AND I REMEMBER, I DO AND I UNDERSTAND.
Motivating the students is a fundamental role of the teacher/trainer.
Some students may
lack motivation but when a whole class lacks motivation then the
fault must be with the teacher'. It should be clear then that
the teacher / trainer must understand the need to motivate his/her
students. If the student wants something they will work to obtain
it.
Having planned and repaired, the moment of truth arrives. The
teacher/trainer must now perform for his/her class with the learning
outcomes to the forefront of his/her mind. The actual communication
that is going to occur between the teacher/trainer and students
is the culmination of planning and preparation and this can be
referred to as the presentation and must be effective.
Number of suggestions to help the presentation :
a) Start with brief review and provide an overview of work to
be done
b) Keep lecture training to essential points.
c) Talk the lecture, do not read
d) Look at the students to assess reactions
e) Repair or re-phrase confused points.
f) Pace delivery
g) Very pitch and volume of voice
h) Speech volume enough
i) Enthuse
j) Stop lecture and change activity if interest has waned
k) Use rhetoriod questions to stimulation thinking.
l) Summaries.
As
the teacher/trainer becomes proficient with he/she will be able
to improve his/her performance by pausing at strategic moments,
using humor use of student and display, obtaining student response
and use of question and answer techniques.

Some
of Our Successful Students
Malia
Biswas-
I
have taken training in Beauty Therapy from India's all top Institutions.
But if I could not have taken admission in Ananya then my learning
would have been incomplete. After some classes I found what is
the huge differences between national and international standards.
In India most of the academies are showing how to use their own
beauty products only, no one is promoting the scientific knowledge
in skincare and treatment, not even the anatomy and physiology
of human body which is most important to know in this profession.
I have learned all these in Ananya and particularly from Dr. Sarbani
Ghosh, who is the most knowledgeable and learned person I ever
met in India. Now I am running one of the best salon by my own
in Chandannagar-
Malia's Beauty Salon, 452 Bibekananda Road, Merry Park,
Hoogly. Phone Numbers: 9330904548 & 30909527.
Aparna Banerjee-

Now the demand of the Beauty Industry is well trained estheticians
who has successfully brought scientific approach to their beauty
clinics/parlours. Ananya is the only academy who has shown the
way to their students to provide the latest knowledge in treatments
with cutting edge technology and techniques to improve their clients
appearance. At present I am running my own parlour successfully
in Purulia-
Labelle Ladies Beauty Parlour, S.N Sarkar Road, Purulia-723101.
Phone numbers: 9434024794, 03252-224794.
Arpita Saha-

Salon professionals should know the scientific know-how along
with the practical skills of skin and hair treatments. Clients
demand the best beauty services now-a-days, especially self educating
clients know the latest technical know-how and according they
expect the same from the salon where they visits regularly. Ananya
has taught all these things and I am a successful parlour owner
now and I am proud to be a student of Ananya.
