CHAITI MAJUMDAR from the age of eight she has learnt classical music from Jagannath Majhi and her fascination towards music is because of her parent creation of musical atmosphere.

She held first position in Rabindra Sangeet, organized by All India Radio in 1988 and in 1989; she participated as “B-Grade” artist in Calcutta Radio office. In 1992, she was permanently appointed as a “B-High” Rabindra Sangeet artist.

From 1994, she got the opportunity to present Rabindra Sangeet quite often in Calcutta Doordarshan. In 1989 an artist selection programme was arranged in Rabindra Sadan and there she was selected. From 1990 she presented her song in Rabindra Sadan every year.

After holding the second position in the senior section, Rabindra Sangeet, in Golden Talent Contest organized by HMV; she was selected to release a cassette in the presence of late Shri Rabi Kichalu. But due to some unknown reason the cassette was not released and the artist become the victim of deprivation.

From 1996, she got the opportunity to present Rabindra Sangeet in Jora Sanco Thakurbari on the birth ceremony of Rabindra Nath Thakur.

Education Qualification – In 1993 she was post graduated in Bengali from Shantiniketan Viswa Bharati University.

Other Programmes – She made her first performance in Delhi with Smt. Kanika Bandopadhyay’s group and earned fame and her blessings became the usher throughout her life. Then she established her music world through her performance in various places like Pondicherry, Jamshedpur, Siliguri, New Jalpaiguri, Burdwan, Katowa, Siruri and Bengal.

Apart from Rabindra Sangeet, under the guidance of Swastika Mukhopadhyay she is equally versatile in Atulprasad, Dwijendra Geeti, Rajnikanto, Dilip Kumar Roy;s song. Through this artist’s own organization is in Rampurhat named “Ganer Bhuban Gandharbir” she is imparting right kind of music and is dedicated to it.
