ABHISEK LAHIRI

 

AWARDS AND ACHIEVEMENTS

 

Abhisek is a proud recipient of the 'National Scholarship' for outstanding performance in the field of Hindustani Instrumental Music - Sarod awarded by the Ministry of Human Resource and Development, New Delhi in 1996-97.

He won the prestigious Anun Lund Rej Memorial Award, worth Rs 50000/- from the Norwegian govt in 1998.

The Rotary International Club has also honoured Abhisek with Certificate of Appreciation for his excellence in Sarod in 2000.

In the same year, Abhisek won the President's Award in Sarod through all India Radio Music Competition.

Abhisek is also the proud recipient of the Telegraph School award (Gold) as an outstanding talent in 2001.

In 2003, Abhisek has Been awarded the National Senior Scholarship by the Department of Tourism and Culture, Govt. Of India.

At present, Abhisek is an "A-Grade" artist of All India Radio and Doordarshan.

Extensive performances in USA, Canada and in different parts of Europe (Germany, France, Switzerland, Holland, Belgium,Italy, Spain etc).

World Kinder Festival in Holland, Musee Guimet (Asian Museum) in Paris & World Music Day
Festival in Cannes- France, India Night- Stuttgart, India Festival- Strasbourg, FIMU Festival- France & TSS Festival in Toronto and TMG Concerts in Hamilton, Canada etc.

Saath-Saath Festival in Mumbai.

National Center for Performing Arts (NCPA), Mumbai.

Ramakrishna Mission Institute of Culture, Kolkata Daylong Annual Music festival.

Biswa Banga Sammelan on behalf of Govt. of West Bengal.

West Bengal State Music Academy Annual Concert, Govt of West Bengal.

Performed in several concerts in Kolkata like Dover Lane Music Conference, Anirban Sangeet Sammelan, 11th Salt Lake City Music Festival, Ballygaunge Maitreyi & Sangeet Piyasi etc…
