Annual
General Meeting was held on 5th June 2005 at 5 p.m. at Calcutta
Boating & Hotel Resorts. During the meeting the following
resolutions were unanimously accepted after thorough discussion
by the members.
1. The house resolves that considering the long association with
IMA Clacutta Branch and dedicated services rendered, annual members
for more than 10 years and who have reached 65 years of age need
not pay subscription to the branch and will continue to be lMA
members on payment of only Headquarters contribution w.eJ. 1.1.2006
which is Rs. 200/- per annum at present:
2. Consequent upon the increase in HFC by IMA Headquarters it
is resolved
that the subscription of IMA Calcutta Branch be increased from
1.1.2006.
Present Rate New Rate
Annual Single Member Rs. 300/- Rs. 400/- per year
Annual Couple Members Rs. 450/- Rs. 600/
life Single Member Rs. 4500/- Rs.6000/
Life Couple Member Rs.6750/- Rs.9000/
3. As per the decision of the Central Counicl of IMA at its 65th
meeting held in Bhubaneswar, Orrisa on December 27-29, 2004 the
representation of local branches to the State Council will be
as per Rule 19 (B) of the IMA HQ. rules.
"Branch representatives from the Local branches and from
direct. members shall be in the following scales: .
20-100 members- One representative.
After 100 members- one additional representative for every 100
members for
part thereof."
A seminar on Breast Feeding was held on 4th August 2005 at Belle
Vue Clinic & Research Centre, Kolkata. Mr. P. Tondon, Administrator
of Belle Vue Clinic was present as Chief Guest. Nearly 100 people
participated including doctors, nurses and social workers. President
Dr. Asoke Ghosh presided over the function. The lectures were
delivered by Dr. Saugata Acharya on "Breast Feeding",
Mrs. Shibani Chakraborty on "Social Aspects of Breast Feeding",
Dr. Gautam Khastagir on "Breast Feeding and Contraception".
There was a I
lively deliberation on the topic. Vote of thanks was given by
Dr. P. K. Nemani, Hony.
Secretary. Dr. Sourabh Koley Convener, Health Week & Health
Education Sub-committee organised the whole programme.
