Yamini (Emelee Ghosh), born in a family of music lovers, was initiated in Katthak at the tender age of 4. For last 10 years she is going through the advanced training in katthak under the guidence of Dr. Malabika Mitra.

She received the name "Yamini" from the great Tabla maestro Pt. Kishan Maharaj. She has been chosen as a T.V. artist by Doordarshan Kendra, Kolkata.

She has performed in the group presentations directed and choreographed by Dr. Mitra in Konarak Dance Festival, Rashtriya Kala Mela, Delhi; Uday Shankar Dance Festival, Kolkata; Doordarshan Kendra, Kolkata; Shradhyanjali; Kolkata Beach Festival, Gopalpur; Ustad Alauddin Khan Music Conference, Myhar 2003 etc. under guidance of Dr. Malabika Mitra etc.

She performed as a solo performer in the field of Katthak in many prestigious music conferences in West Bengal. Such as All India Music Conference, Bahadur Khan Music Conference, Serampore Sangeet Samaj, Stars of Tomorrow (organised by WBDGF), Sekal-Ekaler Setu, Uday Sahnkar Dance Festival, Young Talent Music Conference, Uttarpara Sangeet Chakra Music Conference, Shantipur Music Conference etc.

Othar than West BEngal she has performed in Maha Mriyunjay Mohotsav, Varanasi; Guru Purnima Mohotsav, Patna; Vindhyavasini Jayanti Sangeet Samaroho, Vindhyacal; Pallavatsava 2002, Mysore; Shivaratri Mohotsav, Varanasi etc.
