MITRA started learning pure classical music at a very early
age. She continued to take extensive training from noted classical
exponents. She was under  the
guidance of disciples of Ustad Manawar Ali Khan, Ustad Sajiruddin
Khan, Pt. Jasraj, A. T. Kanan, etc. She has taken in Semi Classical
Music, Ghazals, Bhajans, etc. Debjani
is a first class degree holder in pure classical music from
Prayag Sangeet Samity, Allahabad. However Debjani’s interest
extends beyond classical music to songs like Nazrul Geeti, Bengali
and Hindi Modern Songs, Western and Film Songs.
Debjani’s
long training and experience has culminated in her voicing in many cassettes
released by leading companies like from Sound Wings, PRATHAM
PRADIP and collection of modern Bengali songs "Tumi" and "Sona
Bandhu" composed by leading composer like Kalyan Sen Barat. They acclaimed
rave reviews and eulogies from critics as well as from a wide section of music
lovers. It's been enormously covered, telecasted by popular television channels.

'Chetana Chaitanya' is her debut devotional endeavour, an added asset to the
classical Bengali alleluia legacy. Debjani is a
popular TV and stage performer and performing in many places with great success.
DEBJANI
MITRA worked with Calcutta Doordarshan as an announcer. She
is running her own TV Production in different channels. Debjani
produces, directs, and compares shows.
