 A
disciple of Guru Smt. Thankamani Kutty in Bharatnatyam, Sangeeta developed into
a regular performer and part of her Guru’s performing troupe in quite a
prominent position at within a short period of time, due to her absolute
devotion and hard work but may be also due to her upbringing from a very tender
age which, was always associated deeply with dance and Classical music in
various places in the Youth Festival 1997 organised by the Dept. of Information
& Culture, Govt. of West Bengal.
She
has also participated in “Durga Durgatinashini” produced by the Doordarshan
Kendra Calcutta on the eve of Mahalaya in 1996, “Namaste Jagat Byapike”
conducted by the Doordarshan Kendra Calcutta in 1998 & has also participated
in the Kalamandalam Dance Festival 1997 & 1999, 14th Konark Dance
& Music Festival – 1999, organized by Orissa Dance Academy & has been
invited by the Berhampur University (Orissa) to participate in the Bhanja
Samaroh – 1999 (Festival of Music & Dance). Has participated in Uday
Shankar Dance Festival – 1998 & 2002, Dover Lane Dance Festival –1999, Puri Beach
Festival – 2000, Purab – 2000 at Basant Mahatsov (Orissa) – 2001. has also
participated in Sree Sanjit’s Classical Music Conference – 1999, Classical
evening Organised by Tamil Kala Sangam – New Delhi, 50th
Anniversary of Chandernagare’s 43rd Independence Celebration in the
year 2001, Annual show of “Amra Kajon”, of the Deaf, Farewell ceremony of
Mrs. Kamala Raja Gopalan (D.G. of All India Ordance Factory Board), Opening
ceremony of Kindergarten & Primary School of Joynagore, Risra Classical
Conference – 2001, in the All India WWA presidents’ Conference Govt. of
India. Has participated in Golden Jubilee of NIKHIL BANGO NABABARSHA SAMITI, a
special programme organised by Pracheen Kala Kendra, Chandigarh, Utkal Banga
Sanskritik Sanmelan.
