SAJAL
MITRA, son of Late Sishir Mitra, a noted film producer and actor, and of Smt.
Sipra Mitra, a reputed film and stage actress, has been connected with the music
world since he started compering in 1971 at the age of seventeen.
He
established AMRITO MAJLISH, a cultural institution in 1974, and it is
under his able leadership that the field of work of the AMRITO MAJLISH
ORCHESTRA has spread far and wide in the country.
SAJAL
MITRA is also a Founder General Secretary of Kolkata "Samajsevi 0
Sanskritik Parishad" and a member of the executive committee, "The
Calcutta Ensemble", a leading music institution of the city. He is adept in
organizing and arranging functions in music with reputed and skilled artistes. .
He has, at the same time the credit of promoting young talents in the field of
music.
He
is an Impressario of the first order and has been instrumental in promoting
musical programmes in the country as well as abroad. It is gratifying that
leading and eminent singers as well as film stars have, through his efforts,
participated in the notable music programmes both in India and abroad viz.
U.S.A, UK, New Zealand, Fizi Islands, Spain, Holland, Mauritius, South Africa,
Hong Kong and Dubai, Bangladesh, Nepal, Surinam, Trinidad, Singapore, Belgium
and South America.
He
is a special co-ordinator of Alka Yagnik, Udit Narayan, Kavita
Krishnamurthy, Vinod Rathod, Babul Supriyo, Shreya Ghoshal,
K.K., Kunal Ganjawalla, Annu Malik and many others.
