He is “A” grade artiste (Singer in Doordarshan & AIR – Kolkata). He sings Modern, Semi Classical, Bhajan, Ghazal, Nazrul Geeti, Rag Pradhan. He is also playback singer in Bengali feature film like MILAN TITHI, AMAR KANTAK, TUMI KATO SUNDAR, BIDAY, MAN SANMANI, TIN PURUSH, and many more.

He was awarded in Uttam Kumar, Pramather Barua, Dishari Art Forum, Chalachitra Prasar Samity – as best play back singer for MILAN TITHI, AMAR KANTAK, and TUMI KATO SUNDAR and he also got the gold disc for singing in TUMI KATO SUNDAR. He also sung in various TV Serials like GHUNUR, CHETANA, MAHAPRABHU, SANNYASI RAJA, DEVDAS etc.

His released cassettes are DANRAO AMIOO ASHCHHI, DUR DIGANTO, MAHANAYAK UTTAMKUMAR, SMRITIR PATH DHARE, BHALOBASE JARA, PHIRE DEKHA,BRISHTIR SUKH, BHAJAN ARGHYA (an Album of Bengali Krishna Bhajans on CD & VCD which is now very popular), an Album of Nazrulgeeti on CD & VCD and also an Album of Rabindra Sangeet. He had also visited and performed in Chennai, Rajasthan, Delhi, Mumbai, and many other cities. He had sung with MANNA DEY, HAIMANTI SUKLA, etc. In October 2002, he visited USA and performed in many places in Southern California (Los Angeles, San Francisco etc), USA.
